Teach inspired! - Grants for special teaching projects
Even the best teaching can go routine sometimes. A special occasion or measure can help. You could:
- organize a writing session with a specialist or coach for your Bachelor students;
- embed a talk with an artist into your course;
- explore a cultural monument's genius loci with your students;
- track your seminar with a website or video clip;
To support special teaching projects, the faculty grants third party funds. All faculty members who teach can apply. The applications must meet the following requirements:
- The grant directly supports students.
- The project offers more than the usual teaching and is of special educational value.
- The students contribute to the expenses if they visit e.g. a theatre play, go on short excursions or the like.
Favourable criteria are
- The institute or department provides own resources.
- The project supports many students.
- The project enhances the faculty's fame and team spirit.
Each person may only hand in one application. The maximum sum applied for should not exceed CHF 1'200. If there are more applications than resources, young researcher's applications will be supported first. The applications should not exceed 1 page and include:
- a short project description;
- the educational value and the connection to a course (what is "new/inspired"?);
- how many students (BA/MA/PHD) take part and in what way;
- give reasons why special funding is necessary and show how many own resources are spent (budget, how much does the "new/inspired" cost?).
Please hand in your application to korbinian.seitz@unibe.ch. The Collegium decanale decides about the applications.
Deadlines are January 8th for the spring term and August 8th for the autumn term.
We are looking forward to your ideas!
